I really like her pattern but as she said in her post, it does take a bit more time and I am a slow crocheter. Here is a picture of the cape that I worked up using her pattern.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4_lDZ-PYmHG_fLq8nft7pe21KxsEnhsqsi-I_TEC48ljEPLY5gPDV3spbsCSAdZSYaQdnSJs1nxOaox-bRYTn2if8SG8lwNXGI2lTm-OYtRaJil4XNkM9A8kPGLf2X9-G36Cf1hRemc4/s1600-h/mamma%252520cape%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="mamma cape" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="mamma cape" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-9dTRX1ArQGM/U8Yq2fA6K6I/AAAAAAAAJnU/YTPiimRL8Ao/mamma%252520cape_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="164" align="left" height="244"></a></p> <p>The slip stitch, chain 3, 2 double crochet makes a really nice texture and it is tightly stitched so it covers the preemie angel really well.</p> <p>I spoke with “Mamma” and told her I used her pattern as a guide to create my pattern using only double crochet and single crochet stitches. I didn’t want to step on any toes or infringe on her pattern. She was more than happy to let me do so. As she said, the more patterns the better, as we are all able to help more angels.</p> <p>So here is my version of my pattern with pictures.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvqs8pGIpjJkKJ7Y5lMMUa9x2qY7yClQAHJJ0kDKBn-zwCxgwoVE9o0nXldCbQksJUWO0vBHsWd9gmwX6_md8tCfn45MJP__F0zC3fKaxLZqsE4w_7ZtPhCeQvEo0gsBVg8Ehb5H1406g/s1600-h/my%252520cape%252520blue%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="my cape blue" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="my cape blue" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-u84yTAii44w/U8Yq3wL9zTI/AAAAAAAAJnk/ZQrV_8GByoM/my%252520cape%252520blue_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="172" align="left" height="244"></a></p> <p> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3BjIJQuWHSnbn3Yy5fFPzPQx_CfBz7mKUyz2EFuwodpmEfDxEQE-5D316Eg30J6gsayGVAlILzNQWUhMlWwSglA8-Kt-I-Crj2eJT3-Sq1hjpOSW0xQ0qNm52PWfVDS4AtjNwN2QPHFA/s1600-h/my%252520cape%252520pink%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="my cape pink" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="my cape pink" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ijpZKg0qxrQ/U8Yq5hP60II/AAAAAAAAJn0/pz6BHXfoBWQ/my%252520cape%252520pink_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="172" height="244"></a>The first is made with Lion Brand Pound of Love Blue. The urge just hasn’t been there. So just to catch up here are the items I donated to God’s Tiny Angels in April.</p> <p>Also: I wrote my very first crochet pattern and will be posting it in the near future. I wanted to make sure I have all the “bugs” worked out first and wanted to be able to post pictures of the finished product. I promise, it will be soon!</p> <p>Here are my most recent donations. A few blankets, some sweaters, one quilt and an assortment of burial gowns.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-2oyK9Ac5NMI/U8N743-BiUI/AAAAAAAAJkk/5gmmvwG4edo/s1600-h/Blue%252520and%252520white%252520newborn%252520afghan%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="Blue and white newborn afghan" style="border-top: 0px; See who had to assist me as I was taking my pictures. These are all Red Heart yarn. I did a simple double crochet and edged it with a shell pattern. I seem to be able to crochet faster just doing a no brainer double crochet so when I do blankets that’s what I tend to use as my favored stitch. The edging is a shell trim. I think the purple is Red heart yarn too but it may be Caron One Pounder.</p> <p>Sometimes by the time I donate an item I don’t remember what yarn or pattern I used. Guess I need to start keeping a list.</p> <p>That’s all I got done for Halloween this year. Now for some of my Christmas items.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-OqdokXMqjhw/UnyD0bauDCI/AAAAAAAAJgI/1CFsJA1exeI/s1600-h/1%252520green%252520sparkle%252520and%252520white%252520set%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="1 green sparkle and white set" style="float: left; display: inline" alt="1 green sparkle and white set" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-In6HjFNChAM/UnyD1N8_g9I/AAAAAAAAJgQ/_Tel8Xd7oRk/1%252520green%252520sparkle%252520and%252520white%252520set_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="171"></a></p> <p>This pretty little newborn set is made from yarn that I bought at our local DAV thrift shop. It’s hard to tell in the picture but it has a fine silver thread running through it. My 18 year old grandson said he liked the yarn because the silver in it made it look like it had snow on it. No idea what brand the yarn is as there were no labels on it. It’s kind of fine and very soft. Drapes really nice.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrg-_XDgAxbAzUjbtqjger0kWxsjFpDU-JE2hb6jpzoc_295oXg7RlaHCaOER0j9EEKmQdFm2M8qosep-pNUqMronX5kgQIcLV6cUTMQwgO6lei1wBBCpZoKmi2C4UIlV98LrBSLMi_Os/s1600-h/10%252520sparkly%252520grn%252520crm%252520newborn%252520blanket%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="10 sparkly grn crm newborn blanket" style="float: left; display: inline" alt="10 sparkly grn crm newborn blanket" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-C48CvPvzCzo/UnyD3UiP4YI/AAAAAAAAJgg/g7Xql59qfcs/10%252520sparkly%252520grn%252520crm%252520newborn%252520blanket_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="168"></a></p> <p>There was enough of the sparkly green yarn to get a second newborn blanket out of it. Just my standard double crochet for the pattern. I got a bit fancy with the edge and did a row of double crochet, then a row of 1 double crochet, chain 1 then double crochet again to make it look like filet crochet, then a row of shells.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-iBSnZQYHNks/UnyD5NqOmaI/AAAAAAAAJgo/cC-uqTnro2k/s1600-h/11%252520sparkly%252520red%252520white%252520NB%252520blanket%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="11 sparkly red white NB blanket" style="float: left; display: inline" alt="11 sparkly red white NB blanket" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-xpgN93Sfgaw/UnyD5wXBUSI/AAAAAAAAJgs/2dJUiEaijtM/11%252520sparkly%252520red%252520white%252520NB%252520blanket_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="187"></a></p> <p>This newborn blanket is made from silver threaded red yarn that I bought in the same lot as the sparkly green. It’s soft and easy to work with plus economical. The pattern I used is from <a href="http://www.redheart.com">www.redheart.com</a> and is called Holiday Baby Cocoon. The difference in this pattern is you double crochet between the double crochets on the previous row instead of in each double crochet. This makes for a thicker heavier cocoon in my opinion. Very easy no brainer pattern once you get the base made.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0842r1rzkxj_fCclUn_bUyYf8wy0DIga6sGJRd4FBIvAzQKbZqciYAaRmC13G8A0svuf0uEIMO45SzdIiCgASY4OZPFcGqM-xZXXSRGNV7GDYVX5jX_0Cyax08W3S3TtlC8ffNu3BnBY/s1600-h/4%252520snowman%252520cocoon%252520and%252520hat%252520karen%252520pattern%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="4 snowman cocoon and hat karen pattern" style="float: left; display: inline" alt="4 snowman cocoon and hat karen pattern" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7PsD3tXeawDTowPQPyHr7nFV20K2293tsYIQET_5vWzLQg2WEj8B3bVcYicc5St8iHm7Xv0woULWpTX8_stcJYB9QbYvWMnuxWDZ0wi-eF9HAaUQq9S4HtgZDlolJfPvAH65tdD2alnE/?imgmax=800" width="162" height="240"></a></p> <p>This is my snowman cocoon and hat. It was fun to make. I used this pattern from Karen’s Crocheted Garden of Colors. The pattern is here <a href="http://karensgardenofcolors.blogspot.com/2012/10/honey-bee-cuddle-sack-with-matching-hat.html">http://karensgardenofcolors.blogspot.com/2012/10/honey-bee-cuddle-sack-with-matching-hat.html</a> and is called Honey Bee Cuddle Sack With Matching Hat. I used Lion Brand Pound of Love yarn. The last few rows I used some royal blue yarn from my stash to make it look like the snowman is wearing a scarf. The extra piece is just 3 rows of double crochet folded over and sewn on to hang like a scarf.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-N3nriYwc4hc/UnyD-PO7MjI/AAAAAAAAJhY/SR0ffpIF_AE/s1600-h/7%252520RH%252520Xmas%252520sparkly%252520green%252520white%252520cocoon%252520and%252520hat%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="7 RH Xmas sparkly green white cocoon and hat" style="float: left; display: inline" alt="7 RH Xmas sparkly green white cocoon and hat" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Rtnz2N1gpec/UnyD-8SPLWI/AAAAAAAAJhg/i0OHRch-NkQ/7%252520RH%252520Xmas%252520sparkly%252520green%252520white%252520cocoon%252520and%252520hat_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="133" height="240"></a></p> <p>I used Karen’s pattern here again. I really like the pattern and it works up fast. The green yarn I bought at Goodwill. It is Caron brand Victorian Christmas Gold yarn, which is weird because the thread running through it is silver. Anyway the color is called balsam. I don’t know if they still make this yarn or not. It’s very soft.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-YicZN0ENmro/UnyD_zsBt2I/AAAAAAAAJho/PK16TJyETuc/s1600-h/8%252520xmas%252520tree%252520cocoon%252520and%252520hat%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="8 xmas tree cocoon and hat" style="float: left; display: inline" alt="8 xmas tree cocoon and hat" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_eOTGK2y5fmxe76DXOU4hPic9Gvo8rHlrtMAJ5qgOoPB1OSVJxEvm4Y_pauZevqKjfGjrsKJRL3QcKr_NXBPHLnnvg7fe4rqzB_JBG66J-Xmfjz6aJhzMS2mNMcuIl8gpyAUHAkXqm1U/?imgmax=800" width="149" height="240"></a></p> <p>Not real sure I like the way this one turned out but it’s not bad. I was trying to make it look like a Christmas tree with ornaments on it and trimmed it in gold to try and make it look like garland. The idea was there but not sure I like the way my execution of my idea turned out. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-aKSuYp5yXxc/UnyEB80ybLI/AAAAAAAAJh4/5Qghp9t3mQY/s1600-h/9%252520red%252520white%252520black%252520sweater%252520hat%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="9 red white black sweater hat" style="float: left; display: inline" alt="9 red white black sweater hat" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-GPSMvZ86wr8/UnyECm9Zy3I/AAAAAAAAJiA/Bfao8LbZaBo/9%252520red%252520white%252520black%252520sweater%252520hat_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="210"></a> I’m pretty sure the red yarn is from a partial skein I had of Michael's store brand yarn. Too big to get a good picture laid out open so I folded it in fourths. I’m not sure what brand yarn this is as the weren’t any labels on the balls. It is a soft creamy off white and similar to baby yarn. It’s very soft and drapes very nicely. I just did a simple double crochet pattern, then I edged it with some filet crochet finishing it off with shell edging.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-iZ7F4laY9Fs/Ug4BzGJzDvI/AAAAAAAAJco/pt0RKzxjQBo/s1600-h/Purple%252520white%252520filet%252520set%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="Purple white filet set" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Purple white filet set" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-zbBan3YliY0/Ug4BzojMLDI/AAAAAAAAJcs/baZ2RnzkLeQ/Purple%252520white%252520filet%252520set_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="217"></a></p> <p> This little preemie blanket and hat are made from Lion brand Pound of Love in white and lavender.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-9Q-WUrPFDOQ/Ug4B0jfIf3I/AAAAAAAAJc4/VNd274Cq5Y0/s1600-h/Retro%252520set%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="Retro set" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Retro set" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-RIdWg5edBYs/Ug4B1Dmh6RI/AAAAAAAAJdA/mZKB2VvcwjM/Retro%252520set_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="178" height="244"></a></p> <p> I call this my “Retro” set. It’s all made from vintage Sayelle yarn. Don’t the colors remind you of avocado green and harvest gold appliances from the 1970’s? One lady told me if I had some rusty orange in it I would have the colors from the Tupperware canister sets from that era.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWr90GJcJxiiji4XFjqMRG65PqmvWOq2RjQYEmhUhLjJyRVeHgLq4P-au7L5pfDL2IX3ayi434sV7-2lsYebgHoUdHAn3PiFz86Amc9mHeV9AWEGgnupae2OMO3RkOcEViE6rPZKI4oAo/s1600-h/Four%252520square%252520granny%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="Four square granny" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Four square granny" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-XfjkswAdS6E/Ug4B3CTVIZI/AAAAAAAAJdQ/ZB2BOQNZzds/Four%252520square%252520granny_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="183"></a></p> <p> This is my little preemie four square granny blanket. I have some things my deceased mother in law crocheted and I found the four granny squares in my stash. So I sewed the squares together and found some vintage baby yarn in my stash to match. I just did granny square stitches all around until I ran out of yarn.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuCJrWKKbhC0iY9fXqcdQC1w11PRxIfJTO2HndKhu0HcIx2W_qH_qUPElsjIqzUnKfWvmYAxPcgXVzseIzw_VuGLsZBy7ISPjEwC3Y4HBg9nFCg-7BmQoWUCZ2iJ2pCYQ4bObVpk78sZo/s1600-h/Blue%252520white%252520burial%252520set%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="Blue white burial set" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Blue white burial set" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXiztNmpvKbuo0jYtz5WKnn8r8o8UDNR73WTIlSYc5dMp52nlazHHGC1LwrMH9OwmjjJeBJGxH_LPE-cFl33eB5XTSyFyzcbMZmbaYB_V4tWpbtHw4eNn_U9s2K5ajaqFR1_X7Xze2CHM/?imgmax=800" width="244" height="193"></a></p> <p> I usually try to make some burial items because sadly the need is always there for them. I found this pretty brand new flannel at Goodwill and edged it with a filet pattern using some soft white baby yarn. I used the same baby yarn to make the kimono, diaper and hat. I used light blue buttons to pull the whole set together to match.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-x0Z6Bd2R9gk/Ug4B51zffKI/AAAAAAAAJdo/86xS7nmuzhA/s1600-h/Pale%252520blue%252520pinafore%252520set%252520with%252520diaper%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="Pale blue pinafore set with diaper" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Pale blue pinafore set with diaper" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcwHH5vXZE9FC3XJ6s5i3t6lvAdC4jOjERY78bBqQlpKrSqeicwIlgYKAzg3RaFIOJK8Ttb_oAZXiMwN63xFNDryz5BeuY7ZnLUTT2A1vRL0ObnzuHruhJTA783yiPu351e9FKTbmXM5I/?imgmax=800" width="203" height="244"></a></p> <p> This pretty little pinafore, diaper and matching hat is made from light blue yarn. Again there weren’t any labels on the yarn so no idea what brand it is. It’s very soft and looks and feels a bit like angora yarn. I got fancy and did single crochet stitches on the safety pin so it didn’t stand out so much and matched better.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-MT4GCJ6wQqk/Ug4B7rUZ7XI/AAAAAAAAJd4/SsWyHyJU8Os/s1600-h/Pink%252520burial%252520items%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="Pink burial items" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Pink burial items" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-WjUDvd9NJpM/Ug4B8Fs4M4I/AAAAAAAAJeA/uFW3fO1vZs4/Pink%252520burial%252520items_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="220"></a></p> <p> Just a couple of little pink burial items. I made a matching diaper for the kimono but didn’t have enough yarn to make one to match the little gown. We lovingly tell Dan he has become the old cat man. And of course all the in house critters know Dad is good for a tidbit or two (or three) when he is sitting on the couch eating.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-m4a80X0JPgg/UgCulw23zII/AAAAAAAAJY4/uvKY0g4ID3o/s1600-h/Baby%252520Truman%252520sun%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Baby Truman sun" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Baby Truman sun" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-wR20XgjMKkM/UgCumQIHs5I/AAAAAAAAJY8/jOnFye2tWi4/Baby%252520Truman%252520sun_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="148"></a></p> <p> Our third cat is Baby, the white one on the left. Her and Truman are enjoying some sun. Baby doesn’t give up her sun spot to any of the other cats.</p> <p>Ok, so those are OUR critters.</p> <p> </p> <p>I don’t have a picture of her because it’s hard to get a good one of her through the aquarium glass, but we also have a resident ball python snake. Her name is Samantha, Sam for short. She’s about 7-8 feet long and as big around as my lower arm. I really don’t mind Sam. She is in a 50 gallon aquarium with a very well secured top on it. She is around 20 years old and actually belongs to my stepson. When he was going through a divorce about 5 years ago, she came along with him when he came to stay with us for awhile. He isn’t here anymore but somehow we still have Samantha. That’s ok though. She doesn’t bother anyone. I don’t mess with her other than to make sure she has fresh water. When it’s time to feed her that’s up to her dad to do, not me.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-L46pRZh8VTw/UgCunJlNY8I/AAAAAAAAJZI/zpgmB8WoXi0/s1600-h/Bella%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Bella" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Bella" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-1z4ldOlSvKU/UgCun22pzqI/AAAAAAAAJZQ/hkr1kIQIgaY/Bella_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="164" height="240"></a></p> <p> Then we have Isabella, Bella for short. My step daughter is going through a divorce now and is staying with us for awhile. Bella came along with her, plus her black lab / pit mix dog. I don’t have a picture of the dog yet. Her name is Abby who is around 10 years old and she is the sweetest gentlest dog.</p> <p>Bella the skunk has the run of the house but she’s actually pretty shy and pretty much stays in the bedroom. She’s de scented. When I was up late the other night I heard her trying to sneak down the hallway. Kinda hard to be quiet when you have such long nails and are walking on tile. Anyway, I heard her head into the bathroom to snoop around and was able to grab my camera to take a picture of her as she was coming out of the bathroom. When she feels you are invading “her” space, she raises her tail and stomps her front feet at you. The cats weren’t too thrilled with her at first but they have come to tolerate having her here.</p> <p>So there you have it, 3 cats, a snake, a skunk and a dog.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-bvB_G9oAUD8/UgCuo-DOK7I/AAAAAAAAJZY/1zdWXiCFZu4/s1600-h/Deer%252520track%252520front%252520yard%252520June%2525202013%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Deer track front yard June 2013" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Deer track front yard June 2013" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ZJPZQMQIgb4/UgCupVYD59I/AAAAAAAAJZg/9GVoLpDU8K8/Deer%252520track%252520front%252520yard%252520June%2525202013_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="230"></a></p> <p> Then the other day when I walked out to the mailbox I saw this in the front yard. Hubby says it’s a deer track (which I thought it was) and it’s probably from a big old buck as big as it was. We live in the middle of a good sized suburban city but it’s not unusual for us to see deer, especially late at night and early in the morning.</p> <p> </p> <p>Now for some pretties.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-H7dF8mbFh9I/UgCuqtOPpdI/AAAAAAAAJZo/Ink7xCO-HS0/s1600-h/Irises%252520June%2525202013%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Irises June 2013" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Irises June 2013" align="left" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-y-BXK12UOms/UgCurd-oVnI/AAAAAAAAJZw/KSJQuqwRZu0/Irises%252520June%2525202013_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="180"></a></p> <p> My irises blooming in the flower bed in the front yard.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-O58XT_wNNco/UgCusDOpXJI/AAAAAAAAJZ4/C4KuM5Z8cik/s1600-h/Lilacs%252520May%2525202013%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Lilacs May 2013" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Lilacs May 2013" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-8BQ_I5ZeZsM/UgCusvKasqI/AAAAAAAAJaA/P7cW5W7QMQM/Lilacs%252520May%2525202013_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="132" height="240"></a></p> <p> One of the lilacs from one of the two bushes my kids got me for Mother’s day three years ago. Being the third year for them, I finally had quite a few blooms this year. I love the smell of lilacs.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-LIepwRaKtU8/UgCuui5Ni-I/AAAAAAAAJaI/6c6U7BMQnVY/s1600-h/Peonies%252520June%2525202013%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Peonies June 2013" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Peonies June 2013" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-_8lRMDRRIM0/UgCuvXadNpI/AAAAAAAAJaQ/xGHjZA4FKzk/Peonies%252520June%2525202013_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="180"></a></p> <p> And finally, our neighbor brought me over an assortment of peonies from his bushes. Every year when they bloom he either brings over a nice bunch, or comes and tells me the peonies are ready and “come pick all you want”. Which I usually do.</p> <p>We have such nice neighbors.</p> <p> </p> <p>On the health front: Still coping with my depression and anxiety. Probably will be a life long battle. We adjusted up my dosage on the Effexor. I have to say the depression is pretty much gone. Now if I could just get rid of the anxiety too. It’s better, but still frequently there. I have been getting out more, even going places by myself, which in itself is a big improvement.</p> <p>Sorry it’s been so long since I posted, just hasn’t been a lot to write about. Keeping busy crocheting for the babies for God’s Tiny Angels. I should have a post about my newest donations in a few days as I have a box of items just about ready to ship.</p> <p>Until next time, take care and hug your loved ones.</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-45741449491588135252013-03-31T23:22:00.001-05:002013-03-31T23:22:01.893-05:00Check In Easter Sunday 3-31-13<p>Yesterday and today were pretty good days.</p> <p>We didn’t have a traditional Easter dinner because today was also my grand son Landon’s 10th birthday. We were invited to my stepson’s and his girlfriend’s home to celebrate.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-F8QB1HWD1SE/UVkLZ3dMlkI/AAAAAAAAJT0/tyoFpFtK3E4/s1600-h/Landon%252520Birthday%252520cake%2525202013%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Landon Birthday cake 2013" alt="Landon Birthday cake 2013" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-4DtZnIfi4hA/UVkLaGTB4II/AAAAAAAAJT8/0eM22Clj0Rs/Landon%252520Birthday%252520cake%2525202013_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="135"></a></p> <p> Landon wanted spaghetti and garlic bread so that’s what we had. My stepson’s lady Melissa made this totally awesome birthday cake for Landon. Isn’t it cool??!!</p> <p>It’s a cookie dough flavor cake with cookie dough frosting between the layers. The bunny butt and carrots are fondant and the grass is colored coconut with a ring of Kit Kats around the outside of the cake. It was so moist! I knew I shouldn’t but I had a half a slice of a thin sliver of it. It was so good! And since I took my diabetes medicine, even with all the carbs and sugar I ate today, my blood sugar was only 112 three hours later, so it was all good.</p> <p>Saturday I went shopping for about 3 hours with my daughter. We went grocery shopping and I went to JoAnn’s to get some buttons and bigger safety pins. I have been working on crocheting burial kimonos and crocheted diapers for angel babies for our group <a href="http://danettesangels.tripod.com/">God's Tiny Angels</a> . I didn’t get a picture taken yet but will post it soon. They work up pretty fast and the need is great. I got the pattern for the diaper and kimono here <a href="http://loveyoumorethanabus.blogspot.com/2013/01/crochet-angel-baby-diaper-pattern.html">Love You More Than The Bus Blog</a>. The pattern has been approved by <a href="http://teenytears.blogspot.com/">Teeny Tears</a> for use for charity donations.</p> <p>All the buttons at JoAnn’s were on sale for 50% off which sure helps. It’s amazing how expensive buttons are any more.</p> <p>So, two days in a row out of the house. It’s been a very long time since that has happened. My daughter drove yesterday and my husband today. I’m still having just a bit of dizziness off and on so still just a little leery about driving yet. But, the weather was so nice the last 2 days and it sure was nice to get out in it.</p> <p>Don’t get me wrong, I’m still having some bad days, more like bad hours than full days though. I’m still needing to sleep more than I would like, so an afternoon nap is pretty much a given daily at this time. The anxiety still comes and goes, sometimes for no reason at all. I know I felt shaky and nervous when I needed to leave home the last two days, but I’ve found a fourth of a Xanax seems to take the edge off and once I’m out of the house I seem to be ok for at least 3 or 4 hours. My mood is definitely better. I do seems to have some more energy than I did, actually getting some housework done that’s been needing to get caught up. I actually have more interest in doing things and wanting to get out of the house than I’ve had for quite awhile. I’m still not anywhere near 100% there yet, maybe 40% at this time. But things are for sure getting better. I know it’s going to take time but I really feel the Effexor is taking me in the right direction. I’m starting to see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.</p> <p>Until next time….take care of yourself.</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-30508726408674210072013-03-25T00:07:00.001-05:002013-03-25T00:07:34.801-05:00Check In 3-24-13<p>Sorry I haven’t posted the last few days. I figured you didn’t really need a blow by blow daily.</p> <p>I started a new dose of Effexor on Friday, 2 capsules instead of one. So far it seems to be ok. Only really weird side effect I seem to be getting is some zappy feelings in my legs. Don’t know if it’s a side effect of the Effexor or a combination with my Peripheral Artery Disease. Am keeping an eye on it. If it gets worse or doesn’t go away will be calling my Dr. Also I seem to have some shakiness too. That seems to start to happen about 2 hours before it’s time to take my meds. Maybe it’s because the meds for the day are about worn off.Been kind of antsy too so the Xanax has come into play. Today I couldn’t get warm for anything so I just went to bed, curled up with a nice warm comforter and slept for awhile. I’m still wanting to sleep a lot. Wasted a good part of this morning and some of this afternoon. Guess my body and brain are still adjusting. But I did get ambitious this afternoon and evening. Got the dishes done, swept all the floors, got the garbage and litter boxes ready to go out since tomorrow is garbage day. Went out and got the mail. Even got some more crocheting done. Almost finished with an off white and lavender baby blanket. Just need to finish the shell edging. If I get it done soon I will post a picture. Thinking about making a matching hat to go with it.</p> <p>Until tomorrow!</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-27822798765595252712013-03-19T21:46:00.003-05:002013-03-19T21:46:47.002-05:00Check In 3-19-13Today was a set back day. Really tired, slept a lot, antsy, anxious, shaky. Just plain old didn't feel good. Xanax and sleep were my friends today. Hoping tomorrow is better.Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-37053332739658859352013-03-19T01:03:00.001-05:002013-03-19T01:03:13.755-05:00Check In 3-18-13<p>Another day where I’m feeling pretty good. Got up early but ended up needing a nap. All of a sudden about 11:00 a.m. I could barely keep my eyes open, so off to bed I went. So I pissed away my afternoon sleeping. I suppose my body is still adjusting to the Effexor since it’s only been 3 days that I’ve been on it.</p> <p>I must say I’m not feeling the “fogginess” that I experienced with Paxil. Also when I was taking the Paxil, after the first hour or so, I would get a feeling like I had a tight hat band around my head. Don’t quite know how else to describe that feeling. It was pretty weird, and I always got it, every day. It lasted for a few hours too. Just a weird side effect that I sure didn't like.</p> <p>My energy level has certainly gone up. My motivation isn't what I would like it to be yet, still hard to get motivated, but at least I am WANTING to do stuff. That’s a big improvement for me.</p> <p>I’ve been crocheting up a storm, which is something I’ve always enjoyed doing anyway, but I seem to enjoy it even more now, which I didn’t think was possible.</p> <p>Wanted to go do something today, just to get out of the house, but it’s really stinking cold today. Went out to get the mail and about got blown away. The wind is really bad which makes it feel a lot colder than it actually is. My hands and feet get cold easy because of my peripheral neuropathy and my circulation isn’t what it should be, so I have to be a bit careful about going out when it’s cold.</p> <p>Just a short post for today.</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-12820997448788006222013-03-18T01:06:00.001-05:002013-03-18T01:07:39.058-05:00Truman Adopted August 2012<p>I was just looking back at some of my older posts and realized I had said I would post pictures of Truman, the cat we adopted way back in August, and I never did! So here we go!</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-xuonZlDj-PQ/UUautAOKR9I/AAAAAAAAJR0/ItYBB_QH09c/s1600-h/Truman%252520napping%252520in%252520tv%252520stand%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Truman napping in tv stand" alt="Truman napping in tv stand" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Rc7V0nk9kEM/UUautqG4XII/AAAAAAAAJR8/9WgljH2ZEdE/Truman%252520napping%252520in%252520tv%252520stand_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="180"></a></p> <p> Here he is napping in the bottom of the TV stand. He has made himself right to home around here.</p> <p>Some history on Truman: My daughter and son in law bought a new home last year and the man who was selling the house was Truman’s former dad. He was being transferred by his company out of state and couldn’t take Truman with him.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiasBvy2cLpP1fRrLa5Mie0Fl4u-i0-Kv1FyZaVeF9QrNWND_TQ-b5qJBCqLiiz68TJXaj200Jug6lEFCjQRnWuQmU7g3XFNIeHYYgbp2cQQy9u6GZ0YkVh8NQ-ipGCekbQN0AmZ6kc09Y/s1600-h/Baby%252520and%252520Truman%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Baby and Truman" alt="Baby and Truman" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-TyLFdSZ6M2Q/UUauuoa76jI/AAAAAAAAJSM/chudCMog1S8/Baby%252520and%252520Truman_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="191" height="240"></a></p> <p> Here he is, sharing the love seat with Baby. Truman’s dad told us if he couldn’t find a home for him, he would have to take Truman to the pound. I couldn’t let that happen. Came home, talked hubby into letting me get Truman. And a few days later Truman came to live with us. At first our 2 other cats, Baby and Rocky were pretty leery about Truman. Truman is pretty laid back. He just wanted to be friends with them but they weren’t having any of that at first. Lots of hissing and growling going on for a few days.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbtqgXQ0SZ3dHshBgHCoCvg20SsFa5PgXjACopiFfty9Jn46fFAh23UTkA099ldOpGApccGTxhIfgF7-G5r2tkF88X1fjQUxRFvRfnukxgFU1AfDj8hrT5nOTtBA_QtyWBBMj-ib7nQug/s1600-h/Truman%252520and%252520Rocky%252520squirrel%252520watching%252520togehter%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Truman and Rocky squirrel watching togehter" alt="Truman and Rocky squirrel watching togehter" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-wKSUHbpm97M/UUauvkCWf1I/AAAAAAAAJSc/pAjRvdnpZ7A/Truman%252520and%252520Rocky%252520squirrel%252520watching%252520togehter_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="129"></a></p> <p> Truman and Rocky watching a squirrel out the window. They are best buddies now. They play together all the time. Baby is my skittish cat and it took her longer to accept Truman, but now they play together and chase each other up and down the hallway to the bedrooms. They all even sleep together at times on the beds.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-1zYPTXl1RBE/UUauwck5UsI/AAAAAAAAJSk/CvtX5LX-ePo/s1600-h/Hanging%252520out%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Hanging out" alt="Hanging out" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLNP8V_aTtUvZg1yRhYk_laeLiqs7L8U9AbdHnbnwqmJIwCCiGFS4PJmSK9W-y4N0BnZqDRfj_uUvExeimZSCW_EYZQjRZWQlHhfpYJb53P2NH2-dyHiWiSGl897yEyqYTHQ5uYAuOe6E/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="177"></a></p> <p> Just hanging out. He is such a good boy. Unfortunately his owner didn’t tell us he had previous problems with cystitis and needed to be on special food. So we were just feeding him the same dry cat food the other cats were eating. After two weeks with us he was having trouble peeing, licking himself a LOT and was just generally pretty miserable.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-rBOEL89FTzc/UUauxf8TWHI/AAAAAAAAJS0/hTV5mY1ZfXo/s1600-h/Stalking%252520the%252520toys%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Stalking the toys" alt="Stalking the toys" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-a4TMrS3dux0/UUaux-BKreI/AAAAAAAAJS8/nQ1rRADgq0k/Stalking%252520the%252520toys_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="138"></a></p> <p>A $500 trip to the vet later, was when we found out about his cystitis. When cats eat dry cat food, they don’t get enough moisture in their system to keep it flushed out and males tend to develop crystals because of it. So now all the cats are on canned cat food for urinary tract. There just wasn’t any way to keep Truman out of the dry food, and the other two out of the canned food.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-pceoyNvXESc/UUauyn_LcwI/AAAAAAAAJTE/iznyid7iBbo/s1600-h/In%252520the%252520box%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="In the box" alt="In the box" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-MY3KA8SwaNI/UUauy3XZYEI/AAAAAAAAJTM/jzH5oxK0-ck/In%252520the%252520box_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="198"></a></p> <p>He loves curling up in any box, just like the other cats, so we keep an empty box under our end tables, just for them.</p> <p>Truman also has allergies, so he sneezes a lot, but that we did know. I am pissed that his old owner didn’t tell us about needing special food. We could have avoided the big vet bill. I suppose he thought we wouldn’t take him if we knew about his medical issues. Maybe, maybe not. I DO know we are glad we adopted him. He has fit in well with our other cats. He is a very sweet, gentle, loving cat. He’s very sociable, loves getting his head scratched, and curls up in my hubby’s lap all the time. He’s been a good addition to our home. No more cats though. 3 are enough.</p> <p>Until next time.</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-23880308824799613412013-03-17T21:06:00.001-05:002013-03-17T21:06:44.641-05:00Depression and Anxiety 3-17-13<p>I never know where to start with my posts each day. Guess I will just post what comes to mind and if it gets too long, I’ll just stop for the day.</p> <p>Slept in for a bit this morning. I’m working on getting my days and nights turned back around to the right way. Still found myself needing a nap around noon, so I took one.</p> <p>Got the energy up to get my shower taken late afternoon so we could go to my stepson’s for supper. Don’t know if I had some underlying anxiety going on, or if it was just the exertion of taking a shower, but when I got done my hands were pretty shaky and I felt a bit weak so I ended up taking 1/4 of a Xanax. That small of a dose takes the edge off but doesn’t make me sleepy. I really didn’t feel bad otherwise.</p> <p>We ended up not going over for supper. My stepson called shortly after I got done with my shower and told us he was pretty sick so they had to cancel the dinner. I told him we understood, no problem. If you are sick you are sick.</p> <p>There I was, all clean and dressed in real clothes (doesn’t happen for me every day), and nowhere to go. I had myself all primed up to leave the house which I hadn’t done for over a month. I was determined I was going to do SOMETHING. </p> <p>I couldn’t waste the desire to get out of the house. It’s been so rare lately. So I asked my husband if he would go to the grocery store with me. He knew that was a biggy request for me so he said sure, let’s go. Anything else you want to go do?</p> <p>I’m still having off and on dizziness so I wanted him with me just in case I didn’t feel comfortable driving. I did just fine though. We stopped to put gas in my car and then went to the grocery store. Both places are just a few blocks from home and I’m really comfortable driving it, so it seemed like a good idea to start out close to home.</p> <p>Once I am FINALLY out of the house, I’m pretty much ok. It’s just the going out part that is so hard. I don’t know what makes me so anxious about going out. Also, once I’m out I’m better if I go with someone, hence another reason to have hubby go with me.</p> <p>It had been so long since I went to the grocery store that I ended up going up and down just about every aisle. Hubby has been wonderful about doing the grocery shopping, long as I make a list for him. I really needed new batteries for my blood glucose meter so that was a big reason I wanted to go myself. It was great just to be there and see things I knew I needed or wanted and never remembered to put on the grocery list.</p> <p>The new meds must already be doing some good for me, even after only 2 days, because this was the first time in a long long time that I actually wanted to go somewhere, anywhere. Let’s hope this trend continues!</p> <p>Don’t get me wrong, the anxiety still comes and goes, but that’s what the Xanax is for. And it really does help me. The Effexor seems to be giving me a bit more motivation every day. Plus I have other health issues, mainly diabetes and emphysema, which I’m sure contributes to the depression and anxiety.</p> <p>All in all it wasn’t a bad day, and was better than many days have been lately.</p> <p>Signing off for the night. Take care of yourself, and keep up the fight!</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-17097016709459567732013-03-16T23:54:00.000-05:002013-03-16T23:55:06.822-05:00Depression and Anxiety 3-16-13The first day of meds wasn't too bad. I didn't know what to expect for side effects, which was the part scaring me the most.<br />
I am experiencing dizziness off and on, but I had that with the Paxil. It doesn't seem as bad with the Effexor.<br />
I also have had some shakiness but it just seems to come and go.<br />
I've been lucky in not really getting any nausea, but am taking the advice people have given me to make sure to eat something when I take the med. <br />
I can say that I don't feel so much like I'm in a fog with the Effexor. I seem better able to concentrate and feel more alert. I do seem to have more energy when I am awake, but still find myself wanting to take naps. Hopefully that will pass as more of the drug builds up in my system.<br />
We are going to my stepson's and his lady's home tomorrow to enjoy corned beef and cabbage with them and I'm actually looking forward to it. Haven't really been out of the house for over a month. I always enjoy going to their home and feel very comfortable there so it should be a good "first excursion" for me on the new medication.<br />
I am finding my appetite seems to be returning. Seems like all I want to do is graze :) But that's ok because I need to put some weight back on.<br />
Will stop for tonight but wanted to check in with you all to let you know how things are going <br />

It’s only been a few hours so results remain to be seen yet.</p> <p>I do have to say I am experiencing some dizziness (more so than usual), but knock on wood, no nausea yet. May have jinxed myself, lol,</p> <p>It is an extended release medication so it may take some time for side effects to settle in.</p> <p>I actually had a pretty good day. I was experiencing some anxiety all day because of knowing I was going to do a medication change tonight but nothing serious.</p> <p>If I could just get over wanting to sleep a lot during the day, and then being up half the night because of that, life would be much better.</p> <p>I will let you know more tomorrow how things are going.</p> <p>Thanks for going along on my ride, and I REALLY appreciate feedback I have been getting.</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-15035537263301455002013-03-14T23:56:00.001-05:002013-03-14T23:56:58.816-05:00Depression And Anxiety 3-14-13<p>Well, today wasn’t too bad of a day. I actually had some energy to get some things done around the house. Believe me, that’s a biggie!</p> <p>I did the dishes, got them put away, went out and brought the garbage tote in and went out to get the mail from our mailbox at the curb. Made the bed. Got some more crocheting done.</p> <p>To many of you, this may not sound like much, but for me it’s a lot. Most days I just don’t have the energy or motivation to do much of anything. I sleep way too much. The internet and tv are my things that help me get through the day many days. Leaving the house to do anything is very hard, even going out to the mailbox.</p> <p>I got some information today from a lady who is using the same medication I am going to start on Friday night, Effexor. She has been on it for over 10 years and said it’s been a real help for her. Just hearing that has helped take away some of my apprehension about taking it. I think ANY new depression med would give me some anxiety, simply because I don’t know how my body will respond to it.</p> <p>I know I will probably have some of the crappy side effects I first had from Paxil, the nausea, dizziness and shakiness, but I know that’s to be expected. I’m just hoping that since I have already been on one med that caused that the side effects won’t be as bad, at least that’s what I am hoping.</p> <p>I will keep this post short and sweet. Just wanted to get some thoughts down.</p> <p>Until tomorrow.</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-36633903702787322552013-03-13T23:56:00.001-05:002013-03-13T23:56:28.141-05:00Addressing Depression And Anxiety 3-13-13<p>Not even really sure where to begin, so I guess I will just start.</p> <p>For quite some time now, I have been dealing with depression, anxiety and social phobia. My daughter suggested maybe I should blog about my feelings and experiences as it might help me and help others going through some of the same things.</p> <p>I don’t usually broadcast to others about my depression, etc., because I have found that if someone hasn’t experienced it themselves, they really don’t understand. Heck, I don’t totally understand. My doctor, family and good friends know about my problems, but that’s about as far as it goes until now.</p> <p>At the end of December, I FINALLY admitted to myself that I needed help. That in itself is a HUGE step when you are dealing with depression, anxiety and/or any kind of social phobia.</p> <p>You are NOT crazy. You DO need help. These medical issues are not just something that you can “get over it”. It just doesn’t work that way. All of these are contributed to by neuro transmitters in your brain, at least that is what I am learning from talking with my doctor and research I have done.</p> <p>Depression and such issues sneak up on you. I used to be a very social person who enjoyed going places and doing things. Over a long period of time I have progressively gotten to the point where not much of anything has any interest for me. I don’t have much motivation or energy to do anything either. I seldom leave my home. I HATE BEING THIS WAY!!</p> <p>In December I started on Xanax for my anxiety. That has helped a LOT, with the anxiety. My doctor also started me on Paxil, which addresses the serotonin in your brain. At first it seemed like the Paxil was helping, but that only lasted for a week or two. Evidently, that isn’t my problem. So we are switching me to a new med starting on Friday. You have to wean down on the dose of the Paxil before switching or you can get some pretty nasty side effects.</p> <p>I will stop for tonight and post more tomorrow. Otherwise this post will be way to long for anyone to want to read it. I will address some of the issues that I have been having, side effects from the drugs and other things as I go along. Thank you for listening.</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-13377331363618798982013-03-13T23:15:00.001-05:002013-03-13T23:15:33.921-05:00GTA Donations March 2013<p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-zPjxnzge2zI/UUFOVUtSlcI/AAAAAAAAJLs/jHVuriXNHxI/s1600-h/Blanket-brights-filet5.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Blanket brights filet" alt="Blanket brights filet" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-EqSnQNryqvo/UUFOV3jy1CI/AAAAAAAAJL0/nAnNCGyfXJQ/Blanket-brights-filet_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="215"></a></p> <p>This time we were concentrating on making Easter items for the babies. Then the snow started to come down, huge flakes at first. My pictures show how fast things changed over about 45 minutes. We ended up with 5.2 inches of snow and blizzard conditions.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ViMWsRJpbJk/UNPz0Qy_D5I/AAAAAAAAJIQ/eyctfZc6qPQ/s1600-h/10%25252045%252520am%25252012%25252020%25252012%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="10 45 am 12 20 12" alt="10 45 am 12 20 12" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-uKQdVvaDdSs/UNPz1q7SHEI/AAAAAAAAJIY/ThSC938pjR0/10%25252045%252520am%25252012%25252020%25252012_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="180"></a></p> <p>This is at 10:45 am central time. 20 innocent children and 8 adults gunned down by an obviously deeply disturbed young man.<br />
If you believe in God or some higher being, please pray for everyone concerned. The lost children and their families, the adults that will never come home again and their families.<br />
Even if you don’t believe in some higher being, at least keep everyone concerned in your thoughts, as our compassion is needed deeply at this time.<br />
During this horrific tragedy, we also need to keep in our thoughts and prayers all of the police and first responders involved in assisting at the scene. I can't imagine how they can cope with what they have had to deal with today.<br />
I have friends and family who are or have been police officers, volunteer firemen, paramedics, first responders, doctors and nurses. All of you have my deepest respect.<br />
There will be much discussion about gun control. The guns this man used were legally purchased but taken illegally by this young man. I firmly believe that gun laws had nothing to do with this tragedy. This young man was on a mission and would have found another way to do this, even without access to guns.<br />
You may not agree with me on this, but please respect my opinion as I respect yours.<br />
The bottom line here is that innocent lives were lost, and we should all morn their loss. Hug your loved ones.Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-58345957869278352882012-11-29T11:22:00.001-06:002012-11-29T11:22:32.093-06:00GTA Donations November 2012<p>This time our group focused on making Christmas items for the babies. So, here we go.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-d4e2I8AaORg/ULeZkB1LZRI/AAAAAAAAJFs/V2Ob87U6UvU/s1600-h/Blanket%252520red%252520white%252520stripe%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Blanket red white stripe" alt="Blanket red white stripe" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK47qzdqQjpA3e_n4gqpOxV2V2ZOoK7gXD526BRFGfJyJnh1VYFfeO4sedoulcNlut5sreKS22OgtytQ-qrgZHERVhwbHb7pfgeQZb4yPQBHellXpFzdXRa7Cs7Rr-r23iJpcTS9rM1ec/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="172"></a></p> <p>We all know that I don’t make very many blankets, simply because they seem to take forever to me. I did get one made this time at least. This is between a preemie and newborn size. I use Red Heart yarn for the multi colored red and Craftsmart brand yarn for the white. Craftsmart is Michaels brand of yarn and this is the first time I have used it. The price is really good and it’s actually fairly soft. I will be buying more of it.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-hjt-2zwbjRE/ULeZmPvUMpI/AAAAAAAAJF8/voBKtSefVpY/s1600-h/green%252520sparkle%252520pieces%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="green sparkle pieces" alt="green sparkle pieces" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-gQLcezpK8-A/ULeZnLdsKGI/AAAAAAAAJGE/6vUh6XrHKMQ/green%252520sparkle%252520pieces_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="208"></a></p> <p>I made all of these pieces from some sparkly green yarn I bought at the thrift store. It’s a somewhat thinner yarn but was pretty easy to work with. There weren’t any paper bands on the yarn so I have no clue what brand of yarn this is.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-A5maXV14gGk/ULeZoXWUkGI/AAAAAAAAJGM/Hsx8CeETLRY/s1600-h/Santa%252520hats%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Santa hats" alt="Santa hats" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-IGom4ohPg74/ULeZpNKrcGI/AAAAAAAAJGU/rc61eVjqhZc/Santa%252520hats_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="142"></a></p> <p>Here are my snowman hats. One of the other ladies in our group made some so I just had to try my hand at them. They are pretty easy to do using any infant hat pattern. I did the first four rows in color then six more rows using white. I dug through my button stash and found some cute carrot buttons! You can use any orange buttons for the nose if you can’t find carrot ones. These are a really good way to use up some of those partial skeins of yarn you have.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-HH52_4SZZ2I/ULeZqXAAQhI/AAAAAAAAJGc/-x_ZtI66dvA/s1600-h/Green%252520gold%252520hats%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Green gold hats" alt="Green gold hats" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-N3rMrGehX6c/ULeZrNXYNII/AAAAAAAAJGk/MdMbRl378j4/Green%252520gold%252520hats_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="176"></a></p> <p>An assortment of hats using green and gold yarns.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-edL_GmHaLUk/ULeZssNeuYI/AAAAAAAAJGs/koqnEnU4Zjc/s1600-h/Multi%252520and%252520green%252520hats%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Multi and green hats" alt="Multi and green hats" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-rMa15_SHGGE/ULeZtcvSZxI/AAAAAAAAJG0/bRTOKM-6Y3E/Multi%252520and%252520green%252520hats_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="147"></a></p> <p>A few more hats made from partial skeins of yarn I wanted to use up.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-xyc3Ww3iAO0/ULeZuXwgAWI/AAAAAAAAJG8/Ai92ySifdL8/s1600-h/Red%252520booties%252520hats%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Red booties hats" alt="Red booties hats" align="left" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-pX_feJGztjU/ULeZvAISYLI/AAAAAAAAJHE/bsqPrdMQM_Q/Red%252520booties%252520hats_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="175"></a></p> <p>Some red and white hats and booties. The booties with the gold beads on them are really easy to make. They are basically a t shaped piece that is folded over and sewn down. But let me tell you, sewing the beads on really sucked because the booties are so small and there isn’t much room to get the needle down in there to sew the beads on. I’ll have to figure out something else for decoration on these next year that might be easier.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-WePyBOWO7j8/ULeZwcpg8wI/AAAAAAAAJHM/i3hoBqlyvU4/s1600-h/Red%252520hats%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Red hats" alt="Red hats" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-KocnLAdOyf4/ULeZxOAgt7I/AAAAAAAAJHU/0x6sZPhhEQE/Red%252520hats_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="153"></a></p> <p>Some more red and white hats. I found an easy pattern to make crocheted pom poms. Or at least it looks like pom poms. Basically you crochet a chain of 204, yarn over and insert hook in 4th chain, then *yarn over and insert hook in 7th chain from hook. Repeat from * until you get to the end of the chain. (You will have a whole bunch of loops on your hook). Then pull your hook through all of those loops, pull it all snug and whala! You have a pop pom. Much easier to me, since I really don’t do good making pom poms the regular way.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-VTi4QQxN550/ULeZyTs482I/AAAAAAAAJHc/FlAHoHxEXsk/s1600-h/Santa%252520cocoons%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="Santa cocoons" alt="Santa cocoons" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcBCmnQw3PiZzdODAP5RdrS5boBAX2vAmN4xAKRLMNtI3oaSU_PqHcfO91qQEWq0AF9L-Dd6OMr7mHNJtRxZGCYofa6f_Zi7fZRh_JkXTbdetL7_C-TZY0NBFvqysmWsEnr6nbA2u6TRE/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="136"></a></p> <p>My Santa cocoons with matching hats for this year. When I was organizing my craft room earlier this year I came across some of those 18 inch quilt blocks that you embroider. I used colors to embroider the star to try to make it look like a poinsettia flower. Then I dug through my fabric stash and found some materials that were either Christmas themed of would work for Christmas at least. I cut two inch and four inch strips of fabric, depending on how much fabric I had of each one. Then just added them around the embroidered block. I ended up with a unique little quilt that should be big enough for a newborn. I like how it turned out.</p> <p>That’s it for this batch. Working on items for Valentines day now.</p> Susie Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14998788317845626663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823007521993642629.post-34544159328858347702012-10-17T05:28:00.001-05:002012-10-17T05:28:47.974-05:00GTA Donations October 2012<p>This time our group was concentrating on making Halloween items for the babies.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlF8Vis37hO1XjyTTlXvD-HsxX1Cosz5iS9cLIoQMmvlBHoOTroxniyDsgKY4waWItiLvfxE7hRxocMLXcSL3UuEpIzNCv64NuKc1Tlt11oYyAVZ3McCcVpWAFBt7FTrH0laTNejjfmw8/s1600-h/preemie%252520pumpkin%252520cocoon%252520and%252520hat%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="preemie pumpkin cocoon and hat" alt="preemie pumpkin cocoon and hat" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdhBxZpAXb8mWJo2CWpUwHM3z9dFZIErhzgVhGpbxrJVyxhyeQY0CkuzSBczeUVFfOfwCZChVj7CxUQHj9EdQfHwnMy9PbwOyjcArodOEgE2MAO2olZlJaV5PSqf-Oqq6cCw6vF7jS8yM/?imgmax=800" width="156" height="240"></a></p> <p> This is my preemie cocoon and hat that I made. babies are born to mom’s with drug addictions and the babies go through
withdrawals beginning as soon as they are born. Many of those babies will end
up in foster care and seldom have visitors. These poor babies were born into
this world with nothing, no family to care for them and no new clothing to end
up going to whatever home they end up in.<o:p></o:p></div>

Many are just born to families who are destitute. A hat,
sweater, booties, a blanket, anything new would be so very appreciated by these
families.<o:p></o:p></div>

we just can’t do enough fast enough to take care of the enormous need. It would
be wonderful if you would like to join our group and help. If you don’t feel

occasional basis. ANY help would be so appreciated.<o:p></o:p></div>

You can still help even if you are not “crafty”. We also
accept donations of new or like new gently used baby clothing and blankets. I
am always on the watch at our local Goodwill for pretty baby items.<o:p></o:p></div>

I have been a member of this group for just a month shy of 5

I don’t feel I can make enough items to make much of a dent in the problem.

Right now we are concentrating on making Christmas hats, booties,

Lots of real life stuff going on the past few months tended to limit my crafting time but at least I finally got some things sent!</font></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-v9RHVAg4d4s/UBo7Evf5NFI/AAAAAAAAJAE/6nvycie4O-M/s1600-h/Blanket%252520purple%252520with%252520cream%252520crochet%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-GQs7w42ni-w/UBo7FlQ486I/AAAAAAAAJAM/7CPvVpdfle4/Blanket%252520purple%252520with%252520cream%252520crochet_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="230"></a></p> <p>As some of you know, I have been going through the slow process of trying to clear out and reorganize my craft room. It’s surprising how many unfinished objects you uncover in the process.</p> <p>I came across this little preemie blanket that just needed a few more rows of the edging finished so it ended up in my gotta finish pile.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfX4y_u_KKR0lpHmL8hdkg3uGwuo-4Sbz6l-3DO_HZz6F3vD2ECcnxxGCzgmNSIznQK64S2PvcQAuKhlc_0k8vzE3x5VDSlnIqXayfjewKN-RtSdoof5n6vK_XbOblIA6bTGm_opxjf0M/s1600-h/Blanket%252520purple%252520with%252520cream%252520crochet%252520close%252520up%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-OPRq7lNIEbw/UBo7KUkEddI/AAAAAAAAJAc/QCb-a4-_0Dw/Blanket%252520purple%252520with%252520cream%252520crochet%252520close%252520up_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="238" height="240"></a></p> <p> Here is a close up of the material and the edging. The edging is crochet cotton thread. I was a bit concerned the thread would be a bit rough, but after washing it softened up a whole lot and I think it will be ok.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-RSOGXfYRRCM/UBo7L0Gh2QI/AAAAAAAAJAk/hfScf_NN0sU/s1600-h/quilt%252520light%252520blue%252520and%252520white%252520flowery%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-qTBZIGO-D6Q/UBo7N06KGwI/AAAAAAAAJAs/pxx8VtL11rs/quilt%252520light%252520blue%252520and%252520white%252520flowery_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="230"></a></p> <p> This was another project that needed finishing. I found a baggie of the squares that I had bought off of Ebay a very long time ago.</p> <p>Each square was definitely NOT square, so I had to do some trimming and ended up with 3 inch squares.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-NhoKramoGlY/UBo7PSU3yxI/AAAAAAAAJA0/MfUkUioU9d4/s1600-h/quilt%252520light%252520blue%252520and%252520white%252520flowery%252520close%252520up%25255B9%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-3cAwArR-OwI/UBo7QYR2EkI/AAAAAAAAJA8/FkKCTKml70Y/quilt%252520light%252520blue%252520and%252520white%252520flowery%252520close%252520up_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="234" height="240"></a></p> <p>Here is a close up of the pattern of the squares. Aren’t they pretty? The flowers and leaves are kind of an embossed pattern and it’s really a lot prettier than the pictures show. It ended up being a bit bigger than a preemie size but could work for a small newborn too. Very simple but a bit elegant too. Could even be used for a nice burial blanket if needed. Might go nice with the little burial outfit below.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-KmiRB2Gh60U/UBo7SIXeWMI/AAAAAAAAJBE/q9qYE26zkVA/s1600-h/burial%252520set%252520sparkly%252520light%252520blue%252520and%252520white%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-t_XZj0i73OY/UBo7TRFJlzI/AAAAAAAAJBM/QirZPIZLImw/burial%252520set%252520sparkly%252520light%252520blue%252520and%252520white_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="137" height="240"></a></p> <p> The need is unfortunately continuous for burial outfits so I try to do at least one every donation. I didn’t have the ribbon threaded through the bonnet when I took the picture but used just a white thin ribbon. It’s hard to see in the picture, but the yarn has just a tad bit of sparkly to it. Not too much, just enough to make the set special.</p> <p>The hospitals do use gowns for boys too, simply because it is much easier for them to dress them without hurting their delicate skin.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxO_ziurpUoD594NvemFNorUzCk1F-iSdvdJS_lRYeICKt3uUgdP8DWE3TYAEMQqxlvy3-3oXdRrxQtsPao8jHRS_4wbH6LyZS8A41A6I4YxORdAaAvgDTpMJ1wI2H2YTGIA9C153QHNE/s1600-h/burial%252520angel%252520wing%252520set%252520multi%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-QNf5v_4Nt3M/UBo7YQPk2kI/AAAAAAAAJBc/nOgKfuuwQnA/burial%252520angel%252520wing%252520set%252520multi_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="187" height="240"></a></p> <p> Another little burial set, made from a multi pastel baby yarn. I didn’t have enough yarn to make a hat or bonnet too, but I’m sure it will still be used. Very tiny, should fit a small preemie. It buttons up the side instead of just being what I consider a “sack”. I made this out of Pound of Love white yarn and it should fit a smaller newborn or a preemie.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-EfoLQnWJpBo/UBo7i5ulaUI/AAAAAAAAJCU/7MARp1C5Ccg/s1600-h/onesie%252520light%252520blue%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-1ufVAQv00Xc/UBo7juVnUGI/AAAAAAAAJCc/VjEypjjYdcA/onesie%252520light%252520blue_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="178" height="240"></a></p> <p>I came across this cute little onesie in my UFO’s. It just needed buttons sewed on the back so that was a quick finish! It’s made out of light blue Pound of Love yarn and is kind of big, so it should fit a bigger newborn.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXTac22ZClsVYK9j94gkbJocmFA9JFU9S98-K6ZuFpUTRD28tAPKKnMzbGzy4v4FQUG6yy6SYsgz7LgiK7QJgWMf6u5aAIgxwU1MTiXp1FN-wnx2vwdNMryEL-nfnLjnIhwHeqgood4Dg/s1600-h/quilt%252520brights%252520easter%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-RK4CxYfoY8I/UBo7oAKwFII/AAAAAAAAJCs/_sXNbQQx_uU/quilt%252520brights%252520easter_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="225"></a></p> <p>I wish the picture had come out better on this newborn size quilt so you could see just how pretty and bright all of the materials are. The background material is a whole bunch of bright Easter eggs! I had lots of it so I must have gotten a good deal on the material at some point in time. I dug through my stash and tried to find as many bright solids as I could to go with it for the rectangles. There was enough busyness going on with the material that I just used the same material for the edging.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnAo1x-bvf1WEu6u83ZHwXVBm51I_dqsUE60JkVvGqi8nongXrIkAFwuN_NHcXX8KMd3M-mymx6gxMwvHBmtN3YAOMQjopWeb7l3Q93BqGjZT5DCYeFLcKO8w_txMidJF9q6S_Yw2weZ0/s1600-h/quilt%252520hot%252520pink%252520flowers%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="display: inline; float: left" title="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " alt="OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA " align="left" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-myqcH-tdtdY/UBo7u7bg3CI/AAAAAAAAJDM/zwPysLzKZOk/quilt%252520hot%252520pink%252520flowers_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="240" height="214"></a></p> <p>My hot pink “flowers” quilt turned out to be between a preemie and newborn size.
